Sweeping all roads and sois

The Royal Park village now has a part time person working on the village. Their duties include

  • Sweeping all roads and sois
  • Cut the bushes at the main swimming pool and communal area
  • Clean the entrance gate runners
  • General keeping the village in a tidy state.

At the moment the worker will be part time, working on the village Tuesday 6am – 10am, Thursday 6am – 10am and Saturday.6am – 2pm

Richard said “The North gate entrance is an area which really lets the village down, it is a complete mess. Every visitor that comes to the village does via this entrance and the first thing they see is over grown weeds and rubbish, this is an area we really need to change”

Parts of the village need more urgent attention than others.

It is obvious that some parts of the village need more urgent attention than others. The Royal Park Apartments Avenue is also an area that will need a lot of work to bring the area upto standard. Over the coming weeks we are sure the village will begin to look better, cleaner and tidier.

Over the last year or so, many residents in this area of the village have commented that outside their homes never seems to be clean. With a new worker and a timetable with instructions, i am certain that we can get this area cleaned up.

Street Lighting photo sensors

To save the Royal Park Village money, James and Richard have built and will install photo sensors at all common areas where lights are switched on.

Switched on and off by the security guards.

Up until now all street lightning on the Royal Park Village has been switched on and off by the security guards. On occasions the guards have turned the street lighting on at 5pm, two hours before it gets dark, and switch the street lighting off an hour or more after it gets light.

The lighting at the West gate on occasions is left on well after midday. Obviously leaving street lighting on in day hours is a waste of village money.

Richard stated “As the running costs of the village are now the responsibility of the residents, it is important that we do everything we can to get the costs down. Obviously electric is an area that we can achieve this.”

The photo sensor switch that now turns on and off the street lighting is fitted between soi 5 and soi 6 above head height and replaces the manual switch. The west gate will also have a sensor switch fitted.

Royal Park Village Electric Bill

Up until May 2010, we are informed that the electric bill to the village is 30,000 Baht a month.

James a highly qualified electrical engineer who worked with Boeing for many years said “It might be possible to save the village more money by changing to alternate lighting methods”

Skip and Peter Herret both with security backgrounds have pointed out the good street lighting helps reduce and prevent crime.

More street lighting – Lower cost

It is possible if we are able to reduce the amount of electrical power used by street lighting, we could be able to add more street lighting to darker areas of the village to ensure safety for all residents at a lower cost.

Entrance at the west gate Thrappraya road

As a result of the on going road works at Thrappraya road, leaving the village via the west gate at times can be difficult especially after heavy rain.

James from soi 2 house 267 and Richard from soi 3 272 have arranged the work force and the materials to repair this area of the road and entrance to the village. Not a complete fix but better than we have at this time.

James was concerned

James was concerned that as we do not have Tawan working on the village, in the result of heavy rain, we would not be able to fix the road quickly, so James suggested that we take on the cost personally and get this road area into a better condition before the heavy rains come.

On behalf of the village I would also like to thank James

On behalf of the village I would also like to thank James for his continued generosity, effort, time and expertise. Over the last year, James has

  • Started the camera scheme on the village,
  • Donated a lot of equipment for the electronic gates and barriers,
  • Helped to redesign and build circuit boards on the gates that previously failed saving the village thousands of baht
  • Donated money to the fixing of the road

James is also ready to help with

  • The installation and design of the swimming pool card entrance system
  • Switching the street lighting to photo cell operation
  • Design of LED lighting at the North gate after the area is planted

James is also looking at trying to save the village (every resident) money by reducing the electricity used by the street lighting.

The west gate will be closed to incoming and outgoing traffic

The west gate will be closed to incoming and outgoing traffic for two days 6th June and 7th June.

I hope that more people will be able to help with small improvements to the village. If you have and idea for an improvement please contact Richard on 089 250 8765

Swimming pool security

Hi All,
In recent weeks it has become apparent that outsiders are using the common swimming pool to an increasing extent, also recently there was a rowdy drinking session by local youths at night.

Due to the inability of our guards to control access may I propose we adopt a card entry system ,(to the pool)cost could be covered by sale of the cards.

Any comment Richard?

Cheers. Peter Herrett

Street Lighting

Hi All,
It seems our guards have difficulty understanding the need to turn the street lighting on and off. To overcome this and to ensure they are only on as required, to save expence, may I propose we install photo electric switches and relays.

These are cheap and readily available.
What do you think Richard?

Cheers. Peter Herrett
