Cutting down and removing the trees
Some people had quick growing large trees outside the front area of their garden. These trees grew tall, fast and very wide. Over 3 – 4 years the trees grew twice the height of the houses.
This gave a great benefit of shade to the house; however the shade came at a cost. The trees grew at a fast rate damaging walls, floors and curb sides. Non residents also parked cars and motor cycles during the day to keep their vehicle in the shade.
Cutting down and removing the trees
One of the residents Willi contacted Pattaya City hall to remove the trees from the front of his house.
The work men arrived and cut down the tree section by section. Later a second team of work men arrived to chop the tree into small cuttings and remove the cuttings etc from the Village.
I believe the cost was 2,000 Baht per tree. For more information contact Pattaya City hall 1337

There has hardly been an area of the village that hasn’t been changed in some way, hopefully for the good of the community.

Electric usage increased by 12 per cent
Electric usage increased by 12 per cent on the Royal Park Village January 2011
The Royal Park Village Jomtien received the electric bills for the communal areas. The electric usage has increased by 12 per cent in January 2011 against the average usage for 2010.
Richard a community member said “This is a worry; the village community is maintained and run from a very tight budget. We will have to look to ensure that the swimming pool motors are not on more than they need to be. If we cannot find the reason for the increase and change it, we will be looking at paying roughly 24,000 Baht more for the year, which is money that could be used to develop areas of the village. ”
- The total electric bills for 2010 from July – December 98873.76 Thai baht which is an average of 16478.96 Baht a month
- January total bills came to 18455.17 Baht

Wormhole from the Royal Park Village North Entrance to the USA
Many of the US residents will be pleased to learn there is a new worm hole opened up out side the Royal Park village North entrance. I try not to get to close to be sucked in, however I have been informed that it is a worm hole with direct travel access to and from the USA.
Apparently this will cut travel time from the USA to the Royal Park Village from 36 hours, to only 10 seconds.
All joking aside. The one thing I have learnt with the village, there is always something that needs repairing or replacing..
The hole is in the middle of the road at the North entrance to the Royal Park Village.
This hole is in the public area, not village area, out side the village next to the 7 Eleven on Thepprasit road. The hole it is in the middle of the road at the North entrance to our village.
The road has been collapsing in the area
Over the last couple of days the road has been collapsing in the area, any person entering the village on a motor bike is in risk of the motor bike falling in the hole and the person being thrown off the bike. In short if this is not repaired someone sooner or later is going to be seriously injured.
This hole raises certain questions.
- Is it the City councils responsibility to repair this hole
- If so whom is going to report it, (as I do not speak Thai, I have no chance of getting the correct details to city Hall)
- Is it the responsibility of the Royal Park Village to repair it
If so, what about the other buildings on the village that do not pay any money towards to upkeep of the area like
- Royal Park Apartments
- Government Auction Office
- 7 Eleven
- Kitchen Corner
Up until now any problems on any of the Entrance roads into the village we have repaired ,on some occasions using not village money, but private donations and time. This includes the West gate and the North West gate.
The North entrance is used by all other businesses located on the Royal Park Village.
But the North entrance used by all other businesses located on the Royal Park Village.
I would advise any person using a motorbike to use one of the other two entrances until this repair has been carried out..
The road has been repaired
Thank you to Tony and Nidnoy for constantly contacting city hall until they finally repaired the road.

Shared Swimming Pool edge repaired
Now the Invoices for 2011 have been printed, delivered or emailed, and 2010 accounts finalized and published, we can again get back to inspecting and maintaining the village.
Shared Swimming Pool edge repaired
On inspection both Hans and I noticed that the swimming pool edge of shared pool soi 5 -6 and shared pool soi 6 – 7 have broken pool edging,
We have ordered replacement parts from a local company and this damage will be repaired in the coming days.
Example of where the donated hours go
Before we ordered new parts, I visited two pool suppliers checking prices The first pool supplier gave me a price for the parts of 2250 Baht, while the second supplier gave a cheaper price of 1950 Baht, 300 Baht saving. This saving came at a cost of 2 hours to me.
Hans who dosent live in the areas of the two swimming pools gave his time to inspect the areas. Hans has no interest in the houses in this area, though he still donates his time.
More people needed to help on the village
We need three people, one from each shared pool area to check and report back what problems there are in each area.
By doing this, it will take us less time and ensure your pool area is maintained quicker.
