New Construction
After months of rumours regarding a condo to be built at the swimming pool entrance it seems that work started today.
It would be nice if “management” would keep the residents informed on this matter but we all know their indifference. Lacking that does anyone else know what is the plan?
No doubt we can now look forward to months of disruption, dust, noise and a stream of workers entering the swimming pool to use the toilets.
Have a nice day.

Hi Peter
After receiving your info, I went down to have a look, other residents where there, none of us have any idea of the plans of what is being built.
I have said for a long period of time that this entrance will eventually look like the other entrance, and this is one of the many reasons why we need new gates for the look feel and security of the village,
On that note, we did receive some good news today, we have received a signed document stating that the new gates can be fitted; If we do it quickly may be we will save the toilets….

Further to this subject. Today I called Khun Boom to ask for details on this construction, the answer was..err..umm, I’ll call you back. Unsurprisingly I’m still waiting. What a uselss bunch we have to deal with here.
Anyhow a word with the builders indicates it will be a row of 15 rooms, for letting, on each side, single storey. So that’s it for what it’s worth.

My knowlege from some 4-5 years back is that the Thai owned company that built our village always was likely to build either shop houses, condo,or something on the land outside the village entrance.
They never made any secret about the possibility of a further future development, so its no suprise at all.
That land between the main road & village entrance is after all not owned by the village residents but by the Thai management who can after all build what they wish there without ever having to consult residents, so whats all the fuss ?
lets just move forward ASAP get the new walls built & electronic key card gates installed as was agreed ( subject to finances ) at the open village meeting in Royal park Apartments.
I believe we should politely suggest to the Thai management that the pool toilets must be 100% out of bounds to outside workers,
they can after all surely use the existing toilet in the old sales office.
There will be some disruption during the build, but the sooner they start the work then the sooner it will be over & done with, & after all we do have a choice of 3 gates to use.

As Tony said in his contribution we have always known that some form of development would take place at the Thappraya Road entrance to the village and the proposed low rise development is no doubt better than other forms of development which could have taken place there.
It is also perhaps a good thing that the area is being developped before any new gates are installed since if a little patience is used and we see what the deveopment looks like when finished, the gaates could be redesigned, if necessary to suit the new look and layout of the entrance, something I suggested when they were first mooted.
